Add Interactive Polls to Your Posts on Google Plus
If you want to Crowd source opinion for a latest product feature that you plan to roll out or simply want to know which team will win a sporting event, there’s Google+ to bank upon.
Days after David Besbris said that Google was in social for the “long haul” there came the launch of the Polling feature on Google+. This is perhaps a natural corollary of Google’s recent investment in Polar, an online polling startup.
Dennis Troper says:
“Polls make it easy to get opinions from your friends and followers on the things you’re curious about. You can create polls with up to five choices and use photos to make them beautiful and engaging.”
The polls are easy to create. All you have to do is to select the “Poll” icon when composing a Google+ Post. While Polls are available for web and Android users, iOS support is slated to come soon. Each poll gives you an option of putting up five choices. What’s more you can spruce them up with pictures to add to their appeal with the option to crop images to preferred sizes.
“Starting today, you can use polls on Google+ to settle the burning issues of our generation…or at least find out what your friends are thinking,” Dennis Troper, a product manager director at Google+, said in a blog post. Along with the polling feature, Google has also announced an app for its hangouts video chat service that works with Google’s Chrome operating system and Windows desktop computers. It frees people of the browser window & allows them to chat outside it.
While you get down to collecting opinion, here’s one to start with:
Is the polling feature on Google+
1) Useful
2) Too little, too late
